On September 25, part of the hipto team mobilized to collect donations for the Vaincre la Cystic Fibrosis association by participating in the Virade de l'Espoir in Paris. Back in pictures and on the details of our participation!

What are Virades of Hope?

The Virades de l’Espoir are organized in several departments in France. It is a national day of leisure, mobilization and fundraising allowing everyone to participate in several ways in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Wherever you are, there is bound to be a Virade de l’Espoir close to home!

The donations collected during these days constitute an important part of the resources to obtain small and big victories in medical research and the support of patients suffering from this disease.

Beyond the cause defended, the Virades de l'Espoir are very festive events, where everyone can enjoy the sporting, gourmet and artistic activities organized, and participate in the fight to their fullest extent.

Our participation in the Virades de l’Espoir

Last Sunday, September 25, the hipto team was at the Jardin d'Acclimatation in Boulogne-Billancourt to participate in the Virade de l'Espoir de Paris, and provide physical, moral and financial support in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

Part of the team took part in the Course du Souffle: 5 hiptonians ran the 5km and 7 others took on the 10km! Beyond the effort and the symbolism of giving one's breath in favor of the fight against cystic fibrosis - which, as we recall, is a genetic disease which affects the respiratory system, the digestive and genital systems - participating in this running race made it possible to raise significant amounts of money for the association.

And as the hipto team never does things by halves, we also had 2 stands during this day: a gourmet pancake stand, and an entertainment stand where we offered young and old alike a wide choice of 2-3 minute mini films to watch in virtual reality using VR headsets.

Also, we provided goodies to the organizers of the Virade de Paris so that they could integrate them into the Virades kits, sold to visitors and participants, always with the aim of collecting donations for the association, and to allow everyone to benefit from small gifts, tickets for activities and other rides.

A day dedicated to sharing and commitment to the Association Vaincre la Cystic Fibrosis!

The key figures of this day against cystic fibrosis

In total, 500 pancakes were sold thanks to our gourmet stand! The entire hipto team worked hard to collect as many donations as possible: 700 euros were raised! As for our VR entertainment stand, 97 euros were collected. Could do better, it seems that the visitors and participants were more #teamgourmands than #teamgeeks ;)

All of the money collected from these 2 stands was donated in full to the association!

hipto also made a nice donation of 15,000 euros to the Vaincre la Mucoviscidose association. The fight against this disease affects us a lot, directly or indirectly for each of us, and we sincerely wanted to participate as best as we could. The amounts collected make it possible to support patients and their families in every aspect of their lives, disrupted by illness. Research against cystic fibrosis is based on 3 essential missions: cure, care and better living, and raise awareness.

Our first participation in the Virade de l’Espoir de Paris ended on a very positive note! A great collective dynamic within the team, and superb feedback from the volunteers and organizers regarding our visit! A day full of sharing, solidarity and emotions in the service of a great cause, what more could you ask for! Unforgettable memories and a very enriching experience for each of us.

Thanks again to the entire Virades de l’Espoir organization and to all the volunteers. A special thank you to Jean Rousseau, Frédéric Gérard, Chei-Line & Kévin Bramard, and of course, thank you to all the visitors and participants!

It was a huge honor to be able to participate in this umpteenth edition. We're putting it back in 2023, and we're already seeing the big picture! We'll meet on Sunday September 24, 2023, expect new surprises from the hipto team!
